Volunteer to Help Seniors
Volunteer with NHCO’s In Service of Seniors: North Program - This program helps older adults in northern Allegheny County age 60 and older live healthy and safe with dignity in their homes through volunteer-based practical supports.
MOST URGENT NEED - In Service of Seniors Drivers
We are looking for volunteers willing to give older adults the gift of independence. Volunteers are needed to drive older neighbors to specific appointments in the North Hills. Most appointments are along Babcock Boulevard and McKnight Road. This volunteer opportunity is incredibly flexible and works around your schedule!
Free Rides for Seniors Team Members
We want you on our team of shuttle drivers! The Free Rides for Seniors team provided over 7,000 rides to older adults in need of transportation last year and had a ton of fun while doing it! The need is great, and the rewards are even greater! Make friends, be part of a supportive community, and make a huge difference in the lives of others. Come for a ride and see for yourself. We would love to meet you!
Deliver Food to a Neighbor
NHCO is looking for volunteers to deliver food from the North Boroughs food pantry to older neighbors who reside in the North Boroughs community. Volunteers will pack the food and deliver it to the older adults'’ homes. Volunteers are needed on Thursday afternoons prior to the start of the food pantry. Only volunteer on the Thursday that works best for your schedule!
