Volunteer to help on NHCO’s Free Rides for Seniors Shuttle
The Free Rides for Seniors Shuttle provides free rides for seniors along the Freeport Road area from Sharpsburg to Blawnox, Monday through Friday. Friendly volunteer drivers and ride-along dispatchers are needed, often on a subsitute basis, to get seniors to appointments, shopping, the post office and more. You do not need a special license and training is provided! Contact Kerry at email@example.com or 412-449-0151 or click here for more information.
Home Safety Checks for Seniors
Do you know a senior who lives at home? Safety for Seniors conducts home safety checks for seniors to help them stay safe and independent in their homes.
Volunteers inspect the senior’s home for safety hazards using a written checklist, suggest ways to make the home safer, and install a smoke alarm if needed. If appropriate, the program will have a certified contractor install either a grab bar or indoor hand rail at no charge. For more infomation or to register for Safety for Seniors to visit your home, contact Cathy at 412-307-0069 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Help a senior stay safe in his or her home by driving them to a doctor appointment or the grocery store, providing light yard work, stopping by for a friendly visit, or just making a reassuring phone call. Volunteers are needed in every area! Please visit www.openyourhearttoasenior.org or contact Nancy at email@example.com or 412-307-0071 for more information.
