Our 10-passenger Free Rides for Seniors shuttle provides transportation at no charge to those over age 60 living in Blawnox, Sharpsburg, Aspinwall, Fox Chapel and O’Hara along or near Freeport Road. The volunteer-staffed program, provides door-to-door shuttle service each weekday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. taking seniors to medical appointments, grocery stores, UPMC St. Margaret, banks, pharmacies and many other destinations of critical importance to seniors.
Seniors older than 60 can call 412-782-2001 after 9:45 a.m. on the day they need a ride.
No special license or training is required (although drivers 70 and older must agree to have a medical release signed by their physicians). Volunteer drivers are always needed as are ride-along dispatchers to take phone calls and assist with navigation.
