Scholarship Opportunity for High School Seniors
The Unity Breakfast Committee hosts a breakfast annually in the North Hills to commemorate the great works of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. During this event community leaders, organizers, and other attendees celebrate the memory and accomplishments of one of the greatest civil rights leaders of our time.
Part of the mission of our committee and this event is to recognize community youth in educational programs that promote unity and diversity. As a part of this year’s Unity Breakfast, our committee will select a youth candidate to receive a one-time $1,000 college scholarship for our Spirit of Unity Award. The award will be given to a self-nominated 12th grade student that meets the criteria listed below and exemplifies the spirit of Dr. King:

The scholarship will be distributed by check directly to the educational institution/organization of the student’s choosing. The award is given based on the decision of the committee, and the decision of the committee is final.
